Is your dog full of energy, has a hunger to run and loves to jump high? Or perhaps your dog just wants to have fun and you don’t have the space in your backyard to set up a course.
Come and join us in these 8 week courses for Bounder to weave, leap, jump over bars, crawl through tunnels and have fun. This is a great class for you and your dog to reinforce teamwork and for you to learn how to give direction and guidance using positive reinforcement.
There are two levels. Each class consists of 8 weekly sessions.
Guidelines for Admittance
Dogs must be in good health and at least 8 months old.
Dogs may need to be pre-assessed to determine attention to handler.
All classes must be pre-paid to confirm registration. No refunds.
Aggressive dogs, barking dogs and dogs in heat are not permitted into this class. Choke chains, pinch collars and harsh training methods are not permitted.
Beginner One
This course offers an introduction to Agility, covering the basics from tunnels, jumps, plank to weave poles. Dogs need to be a minimum of 8 months old, have completed basic obedience and have good social skills. Dogs who have not been trained by Deena Speaks Dog may require a meet and greet prior to enrollment.
Beginner Two
Building on the basics of Beginner One, dogs and handlers will fine-tune performance for smooth maneuvering through the course. Special attention is focused on perfecting techniques and communication between handler and dog to build a strong foundation for Intermediate and Advanced.
Intermediate
Building on the basics of Beginner One, this course introduces different positioning, come and go sequencing, change of direction with jumps and speed. Dogs must have completed Beginner One and Beginner Two.
For each class you will need to bring:
- a short leash
- nylon collar or head halter
- treats for motivation
- a clip on pouch or waist pack to contain treats and keep your hands free

Below is a listing of the current and upcoming Agility classes (agility held at the Leaside location only). The price for the eight week session is $252 (GST included). Group classes have between 4-8 dogs. There are no refunds or make up classes for not attending.
