Board & Train

Dogs are boarded and trained in my home in Caledon. The minimum stay for board and train is 3 weeks. Quick fixes are not the goal here, this is not about teaching your dog basic commands. My aim is to create a more balanced and calmer member of your family. Dogs are evaluated on a case-by-case basis. The exact program that is best for your dog is determined through a meet and greet, prior to entry into the program. Programs can include telephone/email updates. Every program includes on site training recap as well as a complimentary follow up lesson. There are two other team members besides myself, working with each dog, multiple times each day. Space is limited in the program to ensure that all the dogs get lots of hands on time and training.

The Set Up:

Located on the above ground lower level of my home
Enclosed and secure custom built paddocks for safe outdoor fun
21 security cameras on property
Designated spaces within the home for puppies, small breed dogs
Separate small and large canine rooms
Veterinarian is seven minutes away

A Typical Day:

Feeding times: 9:00AM – 10:00AM, 5:00PM – 6:00PM
Outdoor/playtime (times vary based on weather/breed/size): 8:00-9:00, 10:30-12:00, 12:00-3:00
Indoor play/and quiet time – 3:00-4:30, 6:00-7:30, 9:00-9:30, 11:00-11:30

Here are some typical situations – with three to four weeks of training:

Jumping
Leash pulling
Nipping
Counter surfing
Resource guarding
Rushing through/overexuberance/barking at the door
Lunging at other dogs while on a walk
Mild forms of separation anxiety
Fear based behaviours - such as under confidence
Multi dog in home issues
Selective listening skills when asked to come

The key to success is being proactive not reactive, when we’re shaping your dog’s behavior. The key is consistency and repetition. We’ll show you the techniques we used to train your dog. If there’s any slips, we can address and modify them at your follow up lesson and get you back on track.

With some dogs who have entrenched behaviours, at best, we can change the dog’s attitude towards the situation. However, you, as the owner, may have to keep in place behavior modification for the rest of the dog’s life, to keep him displaying the desired effect that you’re looking for.

Pricing: $140+hst per day & deposit: $400+hst per stay ($452)
